Definition

An insurance policy where the value of the insured item is agreed upon in advance between insurer and insured. In the event of a total loss, that 'assured' (agreed) value is paid out, regardless of depreciation or market fluctuations. This is common in classic car insurance or for specified valuables. (Similar to Agreed Value Policy.)
