Definition

A person appointed by a court to manage and distribute the estate of someone who dies without a will (or where no executor is named in the will). In a business context, an �administrator� can also refer to an insolvency practitioner appointed to run a company that has gone into administration (though formal company administration is more common in other jurisdictions than NZ).
