Sheryl has been with Staircase for more than 13 years. In that time she has become the voice most clients hear first, answering the phones, helping with queries and pointing people to the right person.

Thirteen years builds a lot of familiarity. Clients she first spoke to when they were nervous about their first property now ring up and pick up where they left off. That matters more than it sounds. People do not want to explain themselves from scratch every time they call, and knowing who they are and what they are working on makes those conversations easier for everyone.

The rest of the role is everything that keeps the office running, along with looking after the team where needed. The variety is what has kept it interesting, and after this long it is the people, on both sides of the phone, that keep her coming back.
